BIO

PROFESSIONAL
Matias battled injuries throughout his professional career and finished playing with the Tropics' FIBA Liga De Las Americas team which won the Bronze medal in 2008. He was a deadly shooter and physical defender, at whatever level he played.

COLLEGE
Matias was a two-year starter at Southeast Iowa Community College and a two-year starter at Florida International University. At FIU, he started 46 games and averaged 13.6 points and 4.0 rebounds.

INTERNATIONAL
He was a standout internationally, leading the Dominican Republic to fourth place in the 2001 Under-21 World Games.

HIGH SCHOOL
He averaged 30 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists on the Miami Christian team that won the state title in 2000.
